Whzan Telehealth speaks many languages
Telehealth is an ideal solution for the remote care of many patient groups from those with long-term illness to those with age related ailments. Certainly in the UK, but also in many other European countries, there are a number of language groups represented, and it is often the older members of those groups who may have less proficiency in the country’s main language than maybe the younger ones do.
Due to popular demand – as the saying goes – we developed the multi-language facility for Whzan Telehealth. We now can deal with over 200 languages both in writing and in audible format. Whzan does therefore display anything from Urdu script to Chinese characters.

Whzan Triage and new features
As you may have seen from our website, the Whzan Telehealth system includes a triaging website where patient status can be easily checked, and those needing most attention rise to the top of the list. Using the website, clinicians can view summary and detail data in a variety of formats, such as tables, calendars and graphs.
This website is also used to set the patient system up, that is, to define the schedule of events, allocate instruments, select or define a questionnaire, set the patient’s language, set alerts and alerting levels and so on. The settings can also be flexibly changed over time, the changes trickling to the patient device immediately.
As Whzan wants to stay in the forefront of telehealth technology, the triage website has been upgraded using the latest technologies again. It is now viewable in any browser on any platform from mobile phones, such as Android phones and iPhones, through to Apple Macs and PCs. Website security has been enhanced as well, now giving the option to limit access to the system by selected groups only.

Whzan Telehealth benefits many patients – fantastic!
If you work within a healthcare organisation, you probably have heard anecdotes on how telehealth, or e-health as it is called in the US, is benefitting patients. At a recent conference on telecare and telehealth in the UK, we heard many such anecdotes – and now we have many of our own. Here is one – and probably the most striking so far.
A young COPD patient was provided the Whzan Telehealth kit by his, by that time rather desperate, GP. This young patient had almost daily emergency admissions and it seemed impossible to get his condition under control. Within a day of using Whzan Telehealth kit he was able to measure and monitor his own condition.
The patient not only stopped having unscheduled hospital admissions but he also ventured out of his home to enjoy life. What a great outcome!

New Whzan Telehealth website launched
As inquiries and contacts for Whzan Telehealth keep increasing, the Whzan team felt that a dedicated Whzan Telehealth website was needed. The site provides more detailed information about the service and the equipment available from us.
We will also be using the site to communicate with you. We will publish our blogs and news on the site and show our latest videos there, as well. Most importantly, however, you will be able to participate in the Whzan Telehealth forum.
On the forum, we hope you will be able to find answers to your queries and share experiences with other users. We are always happy to talk to you on the phone, but equally, using the forum to share questions and answers will benefit the entire Whzan Telehealth user community – from patients to health care professionals.

Whzan Telehealth – the user experience
Whzan Telehealth system is used by patients, triage managers and healthcare professionals alike. We have paid particular attention to the user interface, catering for a number of different users to ensure the user experience is pleasant and easy.
In particular, we have added a number of features to make the interfaces easy to use. For visually impaired patients, there are audible instructions and feedback, Patients with potential motor skill issues benefit from using our large-screen smartphones and tablet PCs. We also cater for users whose first language is not English, including Hindi, Urdu and other languages which use a different script.
Whzan Telehealth patients have expressed how easy it is to use and discreet (the smartphone along with instruments in their case can be put away when not needed). Healthcare professionals find the patient set-up and management straightforward. Within a recent NHS roll-out to a mix of COPD and heart failure patients, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Whzan Telehealth leaps forward
If you have been following the evolution of the Whzan Telehealth service, you may have seen a number of new developments taking place. As the service sits on a computer cloud and uses the internet and the 3G networks as its communication infrastructure, Whzan can flexibly be integrated with a number of services and features provided either by Whzan itself or third party providers. This is particularly important when there are already established systems being used by the health service or care provider organisations.
The latest of these developments is an extension of Whzan to the NHS Florence system which is part of the solutions provided by Simple Telehealth in Stoke and Trent. Read more about this exiting development at:
